Because of the overwhelming number of cars at Cruise the Bay safety issues have arisen that need to be addressed and eliminated. In order for Cruise The Bay to continue, the Port Authority has stated that we need to make changes in how the cars are parking so as to keep all roadways open in the event of an emergency. Beginning this Monday, June 29th, with the help of Port Authority staffing, we will be required to implement new cruiser/spectator parking rules and regulations and to obtain volunteers to enforce them for the remainder of the season. The Port Authority staff will be guiding us through the implementation of the new parking procedures and showing us what we need to do. We will need all cruisers to be observant of the new rules and courteous to the Port Authority staff as these changes are made. The Port Authority staff will only be with us on June 29th, but the parking rules will stay in effect for as long as Cruise The Bay is held and they will be strictly enforced through fines and towing as needed. We need immediately people who will work with the Port Authority to help implement and then to continue to enforce the new parking regulations for the rest of the season. Without people to do this, the Port Authority will not allow us to go on. Please help keep Cruise The Bay;
